Résumé de la conférence:
This lecture considers different ways of looking at the history of a sea, comparing the approach of Braudel and his followers with approaches adopted by later historians of the Mediterranean.  The lecture also looks outside the Mediterranean to consider other seas that might be called Mediterraneans, and beyond those seas to think about ways in which the history of the oceans is being written nowadays.
